(I love this image of Mama Mary with the Angels. I had to add this here.)
Most Immaculate Heart of Mary and The Sacred Heart of Jesus hear our prayer and deliver us:
- From famine and war, deliver us.
- From nuclear war, from incalculable self-destruction, from every kind of war, deliver us.
- From sins against the life of man from its very beginning, deliver us.
- From hatred and from the demeaning of the dignity of the children of God, deliver us.
- From every kind of injustice in the life of society, both national and international, deliver us.
- From readiness to trample on the commandments of God, deliver us.
- From attempts to stifle in human hearts the very truth of God, deliver us.
- From the loss of awareness of good and evil, deliver us.
- From sins against the Holy Spirit, deliver us, deliver us.
The Consecration of Russia as requested by Our Lady
On July 13, 1917 the Blessed Virgin told the three children Lucy, Francisco and Jacinta:
God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.
The [First World] war is going to end; if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the pontificate of Pius XI.
When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that He is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father.
To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart....
If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace. If not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, and various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.”
On June 13, 1929, while Sr. Lucy was at the novitiate of the Dorotheans at Tuy, Spain, Our Lady fulfilled Her promise of July 13, 1917: “I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia …” Sr. Lucy writes that at midnight with only the sanctuary lamp lit; she was praying by herself in the convent chapel.
Suddenly, the whole chapel lit up with a supernatural light and on the altar appeared a cross of light which reached the ceiling. In a clearer light, on the upper part of the cross, could be seen the face of a man with His body to the waist, on His chest a dove, equally luminous; and nailed to the cross, the body of another man. A little below the waist (of Christ on the cross), suspended in the air, could be seen a Chalice and a large Host, onto which some drops of blood were falling, which flowed from the face of the Crucified One and from the wound in His breast. Running down over the Host, these drops fell into the Chalice.
Under the right arm of the Cross was Our Lady with Her Immaculate Heart in Her hand … (She appeared as Our Lady of Fatima, with Her Immaculate Heart in Her left hand, without sword or roses, but with a crown of thorns and flames). Under the left arm [of the cross], in large letters, like crystalline water which flowed over the altar, these words were formed: “Grace and Mercy”. I understood that the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity was shown to me, and I received lights about this mystery which I am not permitted to reveal.
The request for the solemn public Consecration of Russia by the Pope and all the Catholic Bishops, expressed through Our Lady to Sr. Lucy, is a request made by God-Himself.
At Tuy, Our Lady’s words to Sr. Lucy:
“The moment has come when God asks the Holy Father to make, in union with all the Bishops of the world, the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means. So numerous are the souls which the justice of God condemns for sins committed against Me, that I come to ask for reparation. Sacrifice yourself for this intention and pray.”
3 Parts to a Condition: And the words spoken to Sr. Lucy by Our Lady of Fatima. “This is the moment when God asks”
- The Holy Father to make,
- in union with all the Bishops of the world,
- the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart.

(World War II began 7 months after the death of Pope Pius XI. But the ongoing reasons for WWII began in the timeline of Pope Pius XI. Mary’s words are precise “a worse one will break out during the Pontificate of Pius X1.”) (It did happen.)
Pope Pius XII No.260 (Ven.)

The largest crowds in Fatima gather at the shrine to pray the Rosary for Peace. An explosion at the Soviet Navy’s Northern Fleet in Severomorsk, triggered a catastrophic series of secondary detonations that continued through May 17, destroying 1/3 of all the missiles stockpiled. It was called the worst naval disaster since WWII. According to the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment, had nuclear weapons detonated during the blasts, the nuclear fallout would've almost certainly reached Norway, just 100 km (62 mi) away. And Sr. Lucy adds Our Lords words: ‘They have not chosen to heed my request… As the King of France, they will regret it and then will do it, but it will be too late. Russia will already have spread her errors throughout the world, provoking wars and persecutions against the Church, the Holy Father will have much to suffer.’”
Sr. Lucy asked our Lord why He would not convert Russia without the solemn public consecration of that nation specifically. Jesus answered:
Because I want My whole Church to acknowledge consecration as a triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, so it may extend its homage and put the devotion of the Immaculate Heart beside the devotion to My Sacred Heart.
Consecration of the World and with-it Russia, was successfully completed by Pope John Paul II on March 25, 1984.
…united with all the pastors of the Church in a particular bond whereby we constitute a body and a college," consecrates "the whole world, especially the peoples for which by reason of their situation you have particular love and solicitude."
The consecration took place on March 25, 1984 when Pope John Paul II, in union with the bishops of the world, consecrated the world and “in a special way . . . those individuals and nations which particularly need to be thus entrusted and consecrated” to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Russia was named indirectly, probably for political and ecumenical reasons.
Both the Pope and Sr. Lucia dos Santos, initially seemed uncertain that the consecration had been fulfilled. But shortly thereafter Sr. Lucia assured the papal nuncio to Portugal that our Lady’s request for the consecration has been fulfilled.
Lessons we learn from MARY and we need to REMEMBER:
131ccc - "And such is the force and power of the Word of God that it can serve the Church as her support and vigor, and the children of the Church as strength for their faith, food for the soul, and a pure and lasting fount of spiritual life." Hence "access to Sacred Scripture ought to be open wide to the Christian faithful."
138ccc - The Church accepts and venerates as inspired the 46 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New.
139ccc - The four Gospels occupy a central place because Christ Jesus is their centre.
Luke 1:31 - 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.
Archangel Gabriel conveys the message.
And we read Mary’s response in Luke 1:38
(131FullName-Fr. Daniel Fernandes.)
Luke 1:38 - 38 And Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
Mary surrenders in completeness with her YES to God.
And we know what Mary does, she moves in haste to her cousin Elizabeth who is 6 months pregnant. Did Mary think of what her condition would be 3 months later? Answer is in her surrender to God.
Mary knew, God will take care.

Luke 1:39 - 39 In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah,
(Mary did not follow her own ideas, she followed the promptings of the Holy Spirit and did what was asked of her. Mary visited Elizabeth with an instant reaction to what God had spoken in her heart. Her haste to go visit Elizabeth, tells us of her tremendous faith in God.

Message:
We must be quick to say ‘Yes’ to God. Luke 1:38
And make posthaste to be of service to God as Mary to her cousin Elizabeth. Luke 1:39
A Surrender implies trust in God and never turning back. You hold onto God. You do what God asks of You, never letting yourself be bothered of what the world thinks of you or how little they think. When it comes to God and the directions God gives me, everything else is second. Obedience to God and HIS WORD (The Bible) and what the Church teaches matters.
No one knows for certain how long it took Noah to build the ark, but he kept working on it all through the years. His determination-his strength and his perseverance came from God.
Mary’s surrender to God was her YES in everything to God. A silent surrender in doing the Will of God.
Lord help me trust You, like Mary did.
When God asks you something Do! TRUST HIM!
