The Power of SILENCE 2 - On JOB

God answers prayer. But sometimes, God is silent.
There are times, we earnestly seek God but we only sense His silence. And this silence can be extremely difficult on us, because we have no answer.
In his pain and suffering, Job cried out to God, he asked for answers. And he kept asking. But his cries for God’s help and relief were met only by God’s deafening silence.

When God seems silent...
  • Keep God First place! No matter what.
  • Recognize that God can be silent. Job acknowledged the authority of God. In response to his suffering and loss, Job chose to let God be God.
Accepting God’s authority means trusting God, and realizing He is in control. ‘Though He slay me, says Job, I will hope in Him’. Nothing in Job’s life, or ours, happens apart from God’s knowledge and plan.
  • Although God may seem silent remember that He is in a constant state of communication with us. We have to read God’s Word to know and understand what God has to say about the problems we face.
  • Silence can be a sign of God’s trust in you. For Job, God’s silence was a result of the depth of their relationship. When Satan approached God, And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” Job 1:8
God chose Job because He trusted him.
  • PRAY - Talk to God.
When things come about in the life of Job, God is silent. But in chapter 38, God answers — and questions Job.
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding”. Job 38:4
The Lord questions Job. These questions not only reveal to us the greatness of God, but they also put into perspective the things that are very important to people facing trials in their lives. Job 38–39 explains how Job could have more confidence in the Lord so that he could more fully trust that his trials would be for his benefit.
God is in control. He heard Job’s cries for help. Job was reminded, God answers prayer.
When God seems silent don’t doubt Him.
Instead, press forward and seek Him even more diligently.
PRAY!
