He will not wrangle or cry aloud,
nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets;
he will not break a bruised reed
or quench a smoldering wick,
till he brings justice to victory;
and in his name will the Gentiles hope.” Matthew 12:19–21
a bruised reed he will not break,
and a dimly burning wick he will not quench;
he will faithfully bring forth justice. Isaiah 42:3
Jesus is the most gentle and meek of Heart.
There is no wound or vulnerability He doesn’t understand.
When we come to Jesus, we need to come with a trust. Jesus heals our wounds with His Love. All we need is His Love.
Our prayer in every situation, must be, ‘Jesus, I trust You.’
Jesus knows each one of us, He knows our weakness. He waits for us to ask for His help. All we need to do, is ask. That is all.
Jesus loves us all. He waits to heal us.
Gentleness is the application of strength to a situation in a tender manner. It equals the tenderness with which His mighty arm holds the lamb that was lost.
The God, Who created the infinite Galaxy,
the Moon and the Stars in the sky,
the Seas that roar,
the Clouds that thunder,
is the One Almighty God,
Who carries the weakest and tender close to His Heart.
Jesus meek and Humble of Heart, make my heart like unto Thine.
In our pain and confusion, in our weakness, we come to God with a complete trust.
REFLECTION 1
Jesus cautioned His apostles to remember that the Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. We need to be in constant prayers to resist temptation. Our life should be focused on the pursuit of God’s purpose and plan in our lives. For this we must pray for God’s grace and God's will in our lives. Trust Jesus!
REFLECTION 2
With our selfish way of life at times, we forget how we hurt the heart of God. As Christians, sometimes it looks like we carry the name of Christ as a tag.
Can we deny ourselves and carry our cross daily?
- Do we pray for the good of all the people in the world? Do we pray for all the poor people in the world?
- Do we pray for the people from war-torn countries in the world? Do we pray for Peace?
- Do we pray for the countries facing natural calamities? Do we pray for the people's protection?
- Do we pray for broken families?
- Do we pray for all the victims in the world? Do we pray that God strengthens them filling them with courage and His Love.
- Do I pray for those that hurt me? Do i pray Lord make me like You. Let Your Peace and Love grow in me. Help me be good to those that broke me, for You are my strength.
REFLECTION 3
- Do I live a life; lived with love of God and love of my neighbour? Do I follow the commandment of Love?
- Do I make distinctions among people on the basis of wealth and status?
- Do I discriminate people on the basis of certain agendas? For instance:(gender identification-variety of titles)(Different caste/creed/religion or ethnicity) and (position/status). [[In all simplicity - love all, no matter what.]]
- Do I understand other people's sufferings? Do i pray for them?
REFLECTION 4
Jesus, You died for the love of me. Help me to always remember how truly loved I am. You died to give us all eternal life. Help us to remember with love what price You paid for us.
- Teach me to embrace my own Cross daily with courage and love and in Your grace?
- Help us Lord to build bridges to our fellow brethren, Lord, help us, ease the suffering of the aching world?
- Lord, help me to love each person that You bring into my life. Never let me cause any pain in that life.
- Teach me Lord, to be more giving and teach me to be like You!
- Teach me to come in obedience to do Your Holy Will!
REFLECTION 5
The Mercy I to others show, Lord, that mercy, show to me.
Calvary is where we see God's hatred for sin and His love for sinners.
Jesus prayed for the forgiveness of the very people who were crucifying Him: And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34
Even those responsible for the crucifixion had forgiveness available to them in love from the Lord.
Remember-Remember: God made us and called us to bear fruit, but as long as we hold on to the world, it is impossible. By holding on to our life in this world, we lose it for the next, which is an infinitely greater loss.
Lay down your life at the feet of Jesus. Die with Him in order to live in Him.
Thank You, Abba Father.
Thank You, Jesus.
Thank You, Holy Spirit.
Jesus crucified on the Cross, didn’t counter His accusers with insults. He did not retaliate, nor did He use His power to destroy them. His silence made them wonder.
There were times when Jesus openly preached in the synagogues. There were signs and wonders that Jesus performed. Jesus did respond to the Pharisees and Sadducees and the responses were not favourably looked upon. They looked for opportunities to have Jesus killed.
Silence to The Cross
Luke 23:35 - And the people stood by, watching; but the rulers scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, his Chosen One!”
All the lies and hatred have been laid down on Jesus. The injustice is levelled against Him and He is silent.
2 Corinthians 5:21: For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
The truth made them who hated Jesus seek His violent death. Answering their accusations would make no sense. Jesus remained silent. His Silence Reflected their Hardened Hearts.
God’s wrath, was upon Jesus, for He took on Himself the eternal burden of all of our sins. And God thundered His judgement. Like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, He remained silent, and He did not open His mouth.
Jesus, He had the Cross always before His eyes. For this, He was silent in obedience, because it was the Will of His Father. This was why He came! For Jesus, had come to do the will, of His Father, He came to die for all.
The plan of God was in place—to redeem a people for Himself! Jesus, the Son of God, is the Lamb Who carried on Himself the sins of the world.
Jesus, loves us and He took on all our sins, He willingly in obedience paid it with His life? Christ did this for you and me.
Matthew 27:46 - “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”
Jesus cried out to His Father. There was a cry of agony that came up from the heart.
There, is faith and obedience when He commends His spirit into His Father’s hands. There is this final cry not of anguish or of pain but a final hoorah, a triumphant one. The final pronouncement, “It is finished.”
The people who scoffed at Jesus: they did not understand LOVE, they did not understand that Jesus Christ had agreed to die for us sinners. For you and me.
It was this knowing, this sacrifice that kept Jesus silent. He did not defend Himself; He did not have to acquit Himself? He had to die-His was the sacrifice. And it was the will of the Father, that Jesus would be silently led to His death. In a humble trust, in a complete surrender, Jesus walked to His death.
Conclusion: Jesus, learned obedience through suffering. He is that grain of wheat that died and rose again.
Like that grain of wheat, we too are all called for self-sacrifice. ‘A pure heart create for me, o God, put a steadfast spirit within me!”
