Today, we get a huge load of fish and at a price you would not believe. It takes me over 5 hours to clean it all.

10th October, 2021. Sunday.
Fr. Reuben, Fr. Daniel and Fr. Christopher.    (1st mass)
Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy. (Simple and so beautifully sung-Fr. Reuben)
Virtue of Discernment - While we earn our living; some of us earn just enough for all our needs, some of us are able to earn more.
But the whole idea behind discernment, is that when I earn what is it that I do with my earnings with my riches?
And so the Book of Wisdom calls for wisdom-the discernment, to be able to use (the riches) everything that gives us treasure for Gods greater glory. Because no matter how much of material riches we are able to earn, at the end we are unable to take any of this to our graves.
And so the focus has to be to live with these riches and to be able to understand the wisdom of God; to use these riches well to use our talents well. Because even in the usage of talents there can be a sense of pride and as soon as this happens those talents no longer become charisms but rather we begin to look at that as a way in which we promote ourselves.
So one thing is very clear, It is the word of God that is filled with riches that is going to guide us in life. Every scriptural verse whether from the Old or New Testament is inspired by the Spirit to guide our journey to Earth.
We must also remember that there are people who do not earn enough so we must try to be generous in our charity. And it is in this charity that we must never make a noise because what we give is what God has given us and what we give is what will help the poor.
So my dear brothers and sisters always believe in the richness of the Word of God. It is this richness that guides our journeys, that guides the virtues that we develop, that guides our outreach towards people and the community.
And we must always remember to not get greedy and accumulate wealth. The happiness that comes from knowing that what we have earned, we also share with others is amazing. In fact it keeps us rich, it also helps us enjoy the treasure of God's love. Amen.
Abba Father!

Jesus sets about telling them about a possibility of a punishment if they do not follow His teaching. Punishment is varied according to how they approach the situation. And it is in this that we realize, a certain strictness and a discipline. Because that is what the Lord expects His disciples to do. And why is this so? Because every disciple of the Lord is given responsibilities according to his ability. And therefore every disciple must do their best, to follow whatever the Lord wants him to do. And that is why we must pray for each other that in these various responsibilities given to us we must serve the Lord the best that we can. And it is only in the serving that we realize His grace and His blessings that journey with us along the tides of time.
