Jesus teaches us true defilement takes place only in the heart and mind. The essence of a true religion is the right relationship with God and others.
To be religious is not enough. What is needed is to be righteous. Let us pray that we are righteous in our thoughts, words and deeds.

We praise You, we bless You, we thank You oh Lord
Psalm 139 - The Inescapable God
1 O Lord, thou hast searched me and known me!
2 Thou knowest when I sit down and when I rise up;
thou discernest my thoughts from afar.
3 Thou searchest out my path and my lying down,
and art acquainted with all my ways.
4 Even before a word is on my tongue,
lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.
5 Thou dost beset me behind and before,
and layest thy hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high, I cannot attain it.
7 Whither shall I go from thy Spirit?
Or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, thou art there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, thou art there!
9 If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 even there thy hand shall lead me,
and thy right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Let only darkness cover me,
and the light about me be night,”
12 even the darkness is not dark to thee,
the night is bright as the day;
for darkness is as light with thee.
13 For thou didst form my inward parts,
thou didst knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise thee, for thou art fearful and wonderful.
Wonderful are thy works!
Thou knowest me right well;
15 my frame was not hidden from thee,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately wrought in the depths of the earth.
16 Thy eyes beheld my unformed substance;
in thy book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious to me are thy thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
When I awake, I am still with thee.
19 O that thou wouldst slay the wicked, O God,
and that men of blood would depart from me,
20 men who maliciously defy thee,
who lift themselves up against thee for evil!
21 Do I not hate them that hate thee, O Lord?
And do I not loathe them that rise up against thee?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred;
I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
All things are thine oh Lord, we offer Thee what we receive from Thy hand… (the way Fr. Reuben sings, I would only say this, you got to listen, really it is so wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!)
- Complete trust and surrender we must make to a God Who is ever loving and merciful.
- Surrender means to gently close the eyes of the soul, to turn away from thoughts of tribulation and to put yourself in Gods care, so that only He acts. So when you say ‘You take care of it’, you are surrendering to God.
- ‘You take care of it’
Have Thine own way LORD! Have Thine own way! Thou art the Potter I am the clay.
- God has knit us together in our mother’s womb. His works are wonderful.
- Pray always in readiness to surrender
A 1000 prayers cannot equal 1 single act of surrender. Remember this well.
- Every moment of His living existence, Jesus surrendered to God The Father.
- Surrendering to God means that we are ready to allow God to do things to us.
I give my hands to do your work….(HYMN)
Prayer-Right hand raised
Oh God I lay my life at your feet and offer You all that I am.
May my feet follow Your leading
May my mind be renewed with your truth
May my heart be full of Your grace.
May my words be full of Your wisdom
May my mind be full of Your truth.
May my dreams be full of Your vision.
And my soul full of Your Peace.
I lay my life at Your feet and offer You all that I am.
Amen.
Link to the Eucharistic Adoration
There are moments when we feel completely lost. For and in those moments, we come and sit with Jesus. And if we have never spoken with Jesus, as lost as we could feel with everything surrounding us, we need to listen to the assuring words, we need someone to lift us up. Come!

Todays reading Isaiah 55:10-11 (one of my very favourite)
10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

While we pray, we must always acknowledge Gods presence. It is important that we do that, because when we surrender to God, we must have the strength to allow God to do what is important for us according to His will.
