And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Joshua 10:12-13
Joshua was the leader of God's people (the Israelites). The Gibeonites asked Joshua to help them in battle with the amorites. Joshua knew this was the right thing to do because God had promised Joshua victory. More of the Israelites' enemies died in the hailstorm than in the actual battle.
The Bible says, that Joshua had asked from God, that the sun stand still for the entire day, so that they could win the battle in that day itself. At the words of Joshua, the sun did stand still in the skies for the entire day. There has never been a day like that ever in the entire human history.
What makes Joshua, so different you ask? Actually he was just a warrior, but what makes him really different and extraordinary is his immense faith in God. He dared to stand up and ask God for the impossible. Irrespective of what thoughts could have run in his head, at lightning speed, you or I would never be able to guess? But this much is sure, he dared to ask for what no man would ever think of asking. And what makes it even more endearing is that God listened to the voice of a man, and answered.
Real faith is of the heart. There may have been times we didn’t take a step of faith because we doubted God’s plans. But He wants us to be bold and daring when He’s called us to take action. It’s the feeling that ….I know, that I know, that I know… kind of thing. Dare to step out and trust God. Don't just think it in your head; show it with your actions. Step out of your comfort zone. Always remember, God is faithful. No matter what you've been facing, turn those situations over to God. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or think. Dare to believe because when you believe, all things are possible!
