For 33 years Christ set aside His glory which He had before the world was created and lived in obedience and in utter dependence upon God.
Joseph and Mary looked everywhere for Jesus and found Him 3 days later.
And when they saw him they were astonished; and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been looking for you anxiously.” And he said to them, “How is it that you sought me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” And they did not understand the saying which he spoke to them. And he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart.
And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man. Luke 2:48-52
The Gospel of Luke tells us that after having been found in the Temple, Jesus (at the age of 12) went down to Nazareth with His father and mother and He remained with them in obedience.
How God operates - is always going to be beyond our understanding.
As for Mary, within her Heart, she would continue to ponder on these thoughts. It was Mary's loss of Jesus - a loss of 3 days. And now at the Crucifixion of Jesus, Mary standing by her Son, how could we ever possibly understand the Heart of Mary - the depth of pain on seeing her Son?
It is the loss of Jesus at 12-3 days,
it is the loss in the Crucifixion-3 days. (33 years of Jesus life.)
But there is a JOY in the finding, a JOY in the RESURRECTION!
The more Mary pondered; the more Mary was in the grace of the Spirit of God.
Jesus words, “How is it that you sought me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” Luke 2:49
The Temple is the House of God. Jesus identifies God as His Father. Jesus suggests the Temple is the only place they should have expected Him to be in.
(A point for Mary to ponder on-Jesus knew His Mother would.)
Joseph and Mary found Jesus 3 days later in the temple.
Jesus would RISE on the third day after The Crucifixion.
And Mary would find Jesus in the Resurrection - as she found Him in the Temple (Jesus always and about doing His Fathers Will).
There is a double reason to the Loss-Finding of Jesus in the Temple.
Jesus identifies God as His Father.
Jesus encourages Mary, His mother, in revealing to her the Glory of the 3 days later. The Glory of His Resurrection!
For everything there is a time of waiting. There is never a short cut. All i wish is for you to understand that a great miracle, also takes the best of time. God has His time set for everything and every purpose under Heaven! Trust in God, trust in His Time.
- We simply begin, An Angel of the Lord appeared to the Shepherds, announcing the birth of Jesus. (Emphasis on the appointed time of Birth.) We must be like the Shepherds, Open to receive a message with great Joy and Trust.
- Behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy; and going into the house they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. Matthew 2:1, 10-11 The Wise Men came with great Joy seeking Jesus and they came offering gifts-their true gifts were each of their thirst to come to be with the Lord and the homage they rendered to the Lord. How do we come to the Lord, do we come seeking Him. And what do we bring before Him. The Wise Men looked for the Lord, they travelled miles to meet with Him, having a map-route and a Star as a guide. We have our Lord waiting for us and we keep Him waiting still. The Lord, has set His Time eternally to be with us, how do we respond?
- Prophet Simeon in Luke 2 - It was revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord Jesus Christ. His words: “Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word; for mine eyes have seen thy salvation which thou hast prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to thy people Israel.”
