On Baptism

A child's greatest need is to be loved. Correct them when they've done something wrong and let them know you love them and how precious they are to you. Bring them up in simplicity and love.
Give them The Whole World of Love-The Trinitarian God-The Lord Jesus Christ.

BAPTISM by which we are made Christians, children of God, members of His holy church and heirs of heaven.

There are some things on Baptism that i would in the Grace of God love to clear:
  • I have come to understand, that when a baby is born and the mother is her healthy self and is able to move about, that is a good time to baptize one's child. It is no more a rule to wait for 40 days or 3 months. That is very much a thing of the past.
  • I know some married couples who have married from outside their religion. Being born a Catholic and having a child practice another religion or maybe both (and the child is not baptized), it is then from a Catholic perspective holding the child back from what should have come to him or her through rite of succession (you being a Catholic). OH! The JOY to know what Salvation IS? (Don't take it away from your child)
  • There is a group called the Neo-Catechumen's. I don't know if you've heard about them. I do not understand their modus operandi. This is what i know, that children born anytime outside the Easter Season can only be baptized on Easter Sunday and in the Season. And children born after Easter Sunday and well in the Easter season can be baptized during the time. Born after the Easter Season, the wait is upto 10 months, and that would mean the next Easter Sunday. Does this make sense? (My head is on a spin writing this and getting it right? God simplifies things, we complicate them.) And if you would tell me that these are new Christians, i would say okay, they are still in the learning process. But no, the neo-catechumens are coming from families that are strongly based in the Christian life.

REALITY CHECK
What kind of Neo-Catechumen teaching is this? What happens if the child does not survive? As of now, we know very little of life after death as for the unbaptized. Yes, we know of the mercy of God.
But we fail in showing our mercy to the Angel that is given to us. We fail to understand of what it feels for a baby with the contact to God covered with rebelliousness through 'Original sin'. Is it the baby's fault to suffer unnecessarily and for a prolonged time? And if the child does not survive then how long should the child be kept away from God? As a parent, does eternity sound good to you?
In all the 3 scenarios, it is most essential to baptize a child as soon as the parents can. If you are up and about the next day is good.
You don’t want to keep your child away from the love of God. Original sin is too much for a baby to carry for 3 months or more after birth? Why would you suffer your child? Or do you not understand what happens to a life without God. Your baby goes through an agony that you cannot see. If they could speak, they would tell you, their suffering.
Do you not think for your baby' soul?

When You Have Your Child Baptized, Four Incredible Things Happen:
  • Your child becomes a member of the Church.
  • Your child is adopted by God.
  • Your child is cleansed of original sin.
  • Your child is sealed with the Holy Spirit.

What is Baptism?
Baptism is the first sacrament. It washes away the stain of original sin and in the case of somebody receiving Baptism later in life, any personal sins the person has committed. It is a new life.
The “indwelling of the Holy Spirit begins at Baptism and continues from that moment forward into a person’s life. The baptized person is now the “Temple of the Holy Spirit” a place in which the Holy Spirit is present and active.

Jesus, accepted baptism from St. John the Baptist and also directed the Apostles to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - Matthew 28:19
The newly baptized person becomes a member of the church and is incorporated into the Body of Christ.
It is pure natural water that needs to be used, and baptism must be conferred, as Jesus taught, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is normally conferred by a Priest, but the Roman Catholic Church accepts baptism conferred in an emergency by anyone, having the use of reason “with the intention of doing what the church does.”

Renewal of Baptismal Promises
The faithful renew their Baptismal Vows every year during the Easter Vigil Mass.
Many of us were baptized as infants with the parents or God-parents who answered for us. Now in the celebration of the mass, we get to answer for ourselves.
V. Do you reject Satan?
R. I do.
V. And all his works?
R. I do.
V. And all his empty promises?
R. I do.
V. Do you believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth?
R. I do.
V. Do you believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was born of the Virgin Mary was crucified, died, and was buried, rose from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father?
R. I do.
V. Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting?
R. I do.
V. God, the all-powerful Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has given us a new birth by water and the Holy Spirit, and forgiven all our sins. May he also keep us faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ for ever and ever.
R. Amen.

THE SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION
1212ccc The sacraments of Christian initiation - Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist - lay the foundations of every Christian life. "The sharing in the divine nature given to men through the grace of Christ bears a certain likeness to the origin, development, and nourishing of natural life. The faithful are born anew by Baptism, strengthened by the sacrament of Confirmation, and receive in the Eucharist the food of eternal life. By means of these sacraments of Christian initiation, they thus receive in increasing measure the treasures of the divine life and advance toward the perfection of charity."3

Regarding BAPTISM
1213ccc - Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua),4 and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word."5

1227ccc - According to the Apostle Paul, the believer enters through Baptism into communion with Christ's death, is buried with him, and rises with him: Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.29The baptized have "put on Christ."30 Through the Holy Spirit, Baptism is a bath that purifies, justifies, and sanctifies.31
1228ccc - Hence Baptism is a bath of water in which the "imperishable seed" of the Word of God produces its life-giving effect.32 St. Augustine says of Baptism: "The word is brought to the material element, and it becomes a sacrament."33
1235ccc - The sign of the cross, on the threshold of the celebration, marks with the imprint of Christ the one who is going to belong to him and signifies the grace of the redemption Christ won for us by his cross.
1237ccc - Since Baptism signifies liberation from sin and from its instigator the devil, one or more exorcisms are pronounced over the candidate. The celebrant then anoints him with the oil of catechumens, or lays his hand on him, and he explicitly renounces Satan. Thus prepared, he is to confess the faith of the Church, to which he will be “entrusted” by Baptism.

1250ccc - Born with a fallen human nature and tainted by original sin, children also have need of the new birth in Baptism to be freed from the power of darkness and brought into the realm of the freedom of the children of God, to which all men are called.50 The sheer gratuitousness of the grace of salvation is particularly manifest in infant Baptism. The Church and the parents would deny a child the priceless grace of becoming a child of God were they not to confer Baptism shortly after birth.51

THE NECESSITY OF BAPTISM
1257ccc - The Lord himself affirms that Baptism is necessary for salvation.60 He also commands his disciples to proclaim the Gospel to all nations and to baptize them.61 Baptism is necessary for salvation for those to whom the Gospel has been proclaimed and who have had the possibility of asking for this sacrament.62 The Church does not know of any means other than Baptism that assures entry into eternal beatitude; this is why she takes care not to neglect the mission she has received from the Lord to see that all who can be baptized are "reborn of water and the Spirit." God has bound salvation to the sacrament of Baptism, but he himself is not bound by his sacraments.
1258ccc The Church has always held the firm conviction that those who suffer death for the sake of the faith without having received Baptism are baptized by their death for and with Christ. This Baptism of blood, like the desire for Baptism, brings about the fruits of Baptism without being a sacrament.
1259ccc For catechumens who die before their Baptism, their explicit desire to receive it, together with repentance for their sins, and charity, assures them the salvation that they were not able to receive through the sacrament.
1260ccc "Since Christ died for all, and since all men are in fact called to one and the same destiny, which is divine, we must hold that the Holy Spirit offers to all the possibility of being made partakers, in a way known to God, of the Paschal mystery."63 Every man who is ignorant of the Gospel of Christ and of his Church, but seeks the truth and does the will of God in accordance with his understanding of it, can be saved. It may be supposed that such persons would have desired Baptism explicitly if they had known its necessity.
1261ccc As regards children who have died without Baptism, the Church can only entrust them to the mercy of God, as she does in her funeral rites for them. Indeed, the great mercy of God who desires that all men should be saved, and Jesus' tenderness toward children which caused him to say: "Let the children come to me, do not hinder them,"64 allow us to hope that there is a way of salvation for children who have died without Baptism. All the more urgent is the Church's call not to prevent little children coming to Christ through the gift of holy Baptism.

1266ccc - The Most Holy Trinity gives the baptized sanctifying grace, the grace of justification: - enabling them to believe in God, to hope in him, and to love him through the theological virtues; - giving them the power to live and act under the prompting of the Holy Spirit through the gifts of the Holy Spirit; - allowing them to grow in goodness through the moral virtues. Thus the whole organism of the Christian's supernatural life has its roots in Baptism.
Incorporated into the Church, the Body of Christ
1269ccc - Having become a member of the Church, the person baptized belongs no longer to himself, but to him who died and rose for us. From now on, he is called to be subject to others, to serve them in the communion of the Church, and to "obey and submit" to the Church's leaders, holding them in respect and affection.77 Just as Baptism is the source of responsibilities and duties, the baptized person also enjoys rights within the Church: to receive the sacraments, to be nourished with the Word of God and to be sustained by the other spiritual helps of the Church.
1270ccc - "Reborn as sons of God, [the baptized] must profess before men the faith they have received from God through the Church" and participate in the apostolic and missionary activity of the People of God.
The sacramental bond of the unity of Christians
1272ccc - Incorporated into Christ by Baptism, the person baptized is configured to Christ. Baptism seals the Christian with the indelible spiritual mark (character) of his belonging to Christ. No sin can erase this mark, even if sin prevents Baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation. Given once for all, Baptism cannot be repeated.
1274ccc - The Holy Spirit has marked us with the seal of the Lord ("Dominicus character") "for the day of redemption." "Baptism indeed is the seal of eternal life." The faithful Christian who has "kept the seal" until the end, remaining faithful to the demands of his Baptism, will be able to depart this life "marked with the sign of faith," with his baptismal faith, in expectation of the blessed vision of God - the consummation of faith - and in the hope of resurrection.

300 explained

This is to You, my Abba Father. I love You!
Everything in my life is You.

This is the day when i came across 300. This is when i knew i had to write on this.

 21st November 2025.   Day#2111   John 21:11-(153Fish)
Day: Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Other Priest Online mass.                                  (1st mass)
First Reading  – 1 Maccabees 4:36-3752-59   =188/2=94of PSALM 119
Gospel         - Luke       19:45-48          +112 Msgr. A. R.
                                              =300

The number 300 is associated with an absolute victory against overwhelming odds.

i have given a detail into each one of these topics mentioned below separately (and i have added a link to the below), while trying to make it easier to read and i won't skip any part.
The first 300 occurs in Judges 6-7, where Gideon is called to lead Israel into victory. Of the 32000 men in position to fight the war, God has 300 in mind.
The second 300 occurs in Judges 15, where Samson caught 300 foxes, tied torches to their tails in pairs and set the Philistines crops on fire.
The third 300 refers to a year's wage worth of expensive perfume, which Mary uses to anoint Jesus.
And yes, most important of all and really a Premiere point, all the 300 refers to the 300 PROPHECIES on Jesus.

GOD IS SO WONDERFUL and so full of encouragement. So here i add the other factors on 300 which is something i found while reading.
The phrase "do not be afraid" or (Fear not/Do not fear/Do not be dismayed) appears over 300 times in the Bible.
This phrase appears frequently in both The Old and New Testaments to reassure God's people to trust in Him.
Some sources suggest the number is closer to 365 - one for every day of the year.
It is a consistent message of encouragement from God.

The word "Mercy" appears over 300 times, highlighting God's nature.
The repeated commands are to reassure us, the people of God - of God's Presence and support, especially during times of fear and uncertainty.
The command to "Rejoice" is also spoken over 300 times, often with the instruction to "rejoice in the Lord always".

Gideon and his 300 Warriors!

The Israelites are in a lot of trouble again. The reason is that they have not obeyed God. The people of Midʹi·an have gained power over the Israelites and are hurting them. So the Israelites cry to God for help, and God listens to their cries.

And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor.” Judges 6:12
The Israelites were being oppressed by the Midianites, and Gideon was chosen by God to deliver Israel from the Midianites.
The Angel of the Lord called Gideon mighty man of valor.
And the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours and deliver Israel from the hand of Mid′ian; do not I send you?” And he said to him, “Pray, Lord, how can I deliver Israel? Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manas′seh, and I am the least in my family.” And the Lord said to him, “But I will be with you, and you shall smite the Mid′ianites as one man.” Judges 6:14-16
The Angel then tells him to go in this strength and deliver Israel from the hand of Midian.
Look at what Gideon has to say, ‘how can I deliver Israel? He further states that he comes from a weak clan and that he is the least in his family.
But God knows us even before we can understand things about ourselves. That is why the Angel of the Lord greets Gideon with “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor.”
God assures Gideon through His Angel that God is with Gideon and that Gideon would win with the Midianites as a one-man army.

2 The Lord said to Gideon, “The people with you are too many for me to give the Mid′ianites into their hand, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, ‘My own hand has delivered me.’ 3 Now therefore proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and trembling, let him return home.’” And Gideon tested them;twenty-two thousand returned, and ten thousand remained. Judges 7:2-3
God tells Gideon to get an army, so Gideon gathers together 32,000 fighting men. God tells the Israelite Judge (Jerubba′al) Gideon to reduce his army of 32,000.
God says to Gideon: ‘Tell all the men who are afraid to go back home.’ When Gideon does this, 22,000 of his fighting men go home. That leaves him only 10,000 men to fight.
And there is an army of 100,000 men against Israel. And yet God tells Gideon: ‘You have too many men.’ Why did God say that?
It is because if Israel won the war, they might think that they won by themselves. They might think that they didn’t need God’s help to win.

4 And the Lord said to Gideon, “The people are still too many; take them down to the water and I will test them for you there; and he of whom I say to you, ‘This man shall go with you,’ shall go with you; and any of whom I say to you, ‘This man shall not go with you,’ shall not go.” 5 So he brought the people down to the water; and the Lord said to Gideon, “Every one that laps the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set by himself; likewise every one that kneels down to drink.” 6 And the number of those that lapped, putting their hands to their mouths, was three hundred men; but all the rest of the people knelt down to drink water. 7 And the Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will deliver you, and give the Mid′ianites into your hand; and let all the others go every man to his home.” Judges 7:4-7
Gideon initially gathered 32,000 men, but God told him to send back any who were afraid, which reduced the numbers to 10,000.
God still insisted this was too many and had Gideon select 300 men based on how they drank water—those who scooped it with their hands, watching their surroundings, over those who knelt to drink.
The criteria for selecting 300 is lapping the water with the tongue as a dog laps. It would also mean to choose only the men who keep watching while they drink. The rest, God said, should be sent home.
The 300 men who lapped water like a dog, demonstrated awareness and readiness for battle.

8 So he took the jars of the people from their hands, and their trumpets; and he sent all the rest of Israel every man to his tent, but retained the three hundred men; and the camp of Mid′ian was below him in the valley. Judges 7:8-9
Gideon and his 300 men surrounded the enemy camp at night.
9 That same night the Lord said to him, “Arise, go down against the camp; for I have given it into your hand.
God clearly promises Gideon victory. But God desires Gideon to trust Him completely, so what does God do?
Listen to verse 10

10 But if you fear to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant; 11 and you shall hear what they say, and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp.” Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outposts of the armed men that were in the camp. 12 And the Mid′ianites and the Amal′ekites and all the people of the East lay along the valley like locusts for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand which is upon the seashore for multitude. 13 When Gideon came, behold, a man was telling a dream to his comrade; and he said, “Behold, I dreamed a dream; and lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Mid′ian, and came to the tent, and struck it so that it fell, and turned it upside down, so that the tent lay flat.” 14 And his comrade answered, “This is no other than the sword of Gideon the son of Jo′ash, a man of Israel; into his hand God has given Mid′ian and all the host.” Judges 7:10-14
God desired something more than trust from Gideon. God wanted Gideon to be fully convinced that God would win this battle through Gideon.
Gideon had to learn to trust God for what God says.
Gideon had to obey God in everything.

15 When Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped; and he returned to the camp of Israel, and said, “Arise; for the Lord has given the host of Mid′ian into your hand.”
Judges 7:15
Gideon had to march with 300 soldiers against a formidable 100,000 soldiers. What does it take?
Only when you are fully convinced will you speak the above words with conviction.
It is otherwise impossible for an army of 300 men to fight 100,000 plus people.
That is what God desired from Gideon. His whole 100% conviction that God would work the IMPOSSIBLE!
And more unlikely and impossible to believe when….

16 And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and put trumpets into the hands of all of them and empty jars, with torches inside the jars. 17 And he said to them, “Look at me, and do likewise; when I come to the outskirts of the camp, do as I do. 18 When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then blow the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and shout, ‘For the Lord and for Gideon.’” Judges 7:9-18
The time comes for the fight. Gidʹe·on puts his 300 men in three groups. He gives to each man a trumpet, and an empty jar with a torch inside it.
When it is about midnight, they all gather around the camp of enemy soldiers.
Gideon’ Policy, “Do as I do”.
On Gideon's signal, his men simultaneously broke their empty jars to reveal torches. They blew trumpets, and shouted, ‘For the Lord and for Gideon.’
When the enemy soldiers wake up, they are confused and afraid. This unexpected noise and light display at night terrified the Midianites, causing confusion leading them to kill each other in panic. The rest fled, leading to a victory for the 300 Israelite men.
The 300 men defeated the Midianites by using a surprise tactic of surrounding the enemy camp.

CONCLUSION: This fact on Gideon is a testament to God's power, showing that victory is not about human strength or numbers, but about Divine Intervention.
These 300 men, guided by God, defeated a massive army of over 100,000 Midianites.
Moreover, the reason why God reduced 32,000 to 300 is to make the Israel army realize that God made them win, not by the power of the army but by obedience to God.
This is Divine Intervention, showing that God can achieve great things when we surrender to God with Faith-knowing that God can and will and Trust in His Ability and Timing. GOD IS PERFECTION!
God knew the 300 men and their listening skills. Their heart was set to God in obedience.
God strengthened Gideon because it was his obedience that set the way to the 300 men and the victory through Gideon.
The Glory belongs to GOD.

Samson and the 300 Foxes

Samson was a warrior Judge in the Old Testament (Book of Judges).
God granted Samson immense (Supernatural) strength. Samson was a Nazirite from birth, a status that required him to follow a special vow of dedication to God, which included not cutting his hair and abstaining from alcohol.

As a judge and deliverer, he used his strength to perform miraculous feats against the Philistines, such as tearing a lion apart with his bare hands, killing 1,000 men with the jawbone of a donkey, and carrying the gates of Gaza on his shoulders.
His weakness for Delilah, led to the revelation of his secret, and his hair was cut, which caused him to lose his strength. Captured and blinded by the Philistines, he was later brought to their temple to be humiliated. In a final act, he prayed to God for strength one last time and destroyed the temple, killing himself and the thousands of Philistines inside.

This is about "Samson and the 300 Foxes". Samson's is remembered for his supernatural strength, and it is seen as a demonstration of how God can use even an imperfect person to accomplish His will.
The story of "Samson and the 300 foxes" is from the biblical Book of Judges 15.
  • Samson sought revenge after his wife was given to another man by her father.
  • He ties 300 foxes together in pairs by their tails and attaches a lit torch to each pair.
  • He then releases them into the Philistines' fields of standing grain, setting their crops and vineyards on fire.
  • The Philistines retaliated by burning Samson's wife and father-in-law to death.
  • Enraged, Samson then slaughtered many Philistines in revenge before taking refuge in a cave.

Note: It is impossible for a man by himself to tie a lit torch to the pair of foxes and make them run through the fields. And it is not one or two foxes but 300 of them. So no matter what Samson did or failed to do, God was always with Him. God worked the impossible through Samson.

300!

Mary annoints Jesus - 300 Denarii

The anointing at Bethany was an event in which a woman, identified as Mary in John's Gospel, poured costly ointment of pure nard-perfume on Jesus' feet and wiped His feet with her hair.
Matthew 26:6-13 The Anointing at Bethany
Mark    14:3-9  The Anointing at Bethany
John    12:1-8  Mary Anoints Jesus
I have in the grace of God, taken the comparisons of Matthew, Mark and John. I have coloured the text, underlined it for ease of following through.
Also below are the Gospel and explanation after IT, in connection to the anointing at Bethany.

************************************************************************************************
The Gospel of Matthew, Mark and John.
Matthew 26:6-13 The Anointing at Bethany
6 Now when Jesus was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, 7 a woman came up to him with an alabaster flask of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head, as he sat at table. 8 But when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? 9 For this ointment might have been sold for a large sum, and given to the poor.” 10 But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me. 11 For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me. 12 In pouring this ointment on my body she has done it to prepare me for burial. 13 Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.”

Mark 14:3-9 The Anointing at Bethany
3 And while he was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at table, a woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, very costly, and she broke the flask and poured it over his head. 4 But there were some who said to themselves indignantly, “Why was the ointment thus wasted? 5 For this ointment might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, and given to the poor.” And they reproached her. 6 But Jesus said, “Let her alone; why do you trouble her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 7 For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you will, you can do good to them; but you will not always have me. 8 She has done what she could; she has anointed my body beforehand for burying. 9 And truly, I say to you, wherever the gospel is preached in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.”

John 12:1-8  Mary Anoints Jesus
1 Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Laz′arus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. 2 There they made him a supper; Martha served, and Laz′arus was one of those at table with him. 3 Mary took a pound of costly ointment of pure nard and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment. 4 But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (he who was to betray him), said, 5Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor but because he was a thief, and as he had the money box he used to take what was put into it. 7 Jesus said, “Let her alone, let her keep it for the day of my burial. 8 The poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me.”

********************************************************************************

In the Gospel of John, she is identified as Mary, sister of Lazarus and Martha. John mentions the event took place in Bethany and Jesus was there for supper with Lazarus, Martha and Mary. It happened shortly before Jesus' crucifixion, with John placing it six days before the Passover.
Matthew and Mark in the Gospels refer to the person - a woman, but no name is mentioned.
The Gospel of Matthew and Mark also mention the event took place in Bethany at the house of Simon the Leper.

Matthew and Mark in the Gospel mention the woman anointed Jesus with a costly perfume, pouring it on his head.
The Gospel of John mentions Mary anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His Feet with her hair and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

In the Gospel of Matthew and Mark, some disciples being indignant, argued that the perfume could have been sold to help the poor.
The Gospel of Matthew – for a large sum.
The Gospel of Mark – for three hundred denarii.
John specifically names Judas Iscariot as the one who voiced this objection mentioning the amount as three hundred denarii.
The value of Mary’s perfume was about a year’s wages for a working man.

Jesus rebuked the disciples, stating that the woman had done a "beautiful thing" and that her act was in preparation for His burial. In Matthew 26:11 Jesus says - For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.
Mary’s anointing of Jesus is considered an act of selfless love, worship, and devotion towards Jesus.
Below the Words of Jesus:-
Matthew 26:13 - Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.”
Mark 14:9 - And truly, I say to you, wherever the gospel is preached in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.

Mary's Gift!

Here we take a look at the Gospel of Luke 10:38-42
Jesus visits Martha and Mary.
38 Now as they went on their way, he entered a village; and a woman named Martha received him into her house.
39 And she had a sister called
We read this part of the Gospel to understand ONE thing from v39... Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teachingSitting at the Lord's feet, is a privilege and Mary knew that from the many lessons she learned from Jesus.
SECOND thing we learn from v40...
40 But Martha was distracted with much serving; and she went to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.”
V40 says Martha was distracted, but she was also attentive only not as attentive as Mary was. For listen to what Jesus says,
41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things;
What is it Martha is anxious about, obviously in this passage it refers to being alone to cook and serve. But here Jesus tells her and all of us, one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken from her.
42 one thing is needful. Mary has chosen the good portion, which shall not be taken away from her.”
Martha was distracted with cooking and serving, she missed sitting at the feet of Jssus.
When i say that Martha is attentive is based on what the Gospel of John mentions:-
25 Jesus said to her (Martha), “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
27 She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, he who is coming into the world.” John 11:25-27
The Lord asks Martha and this kind of reply from Martha, only comes from listening completely to the Lord - “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God,
When Mary sits at the feet of the Lord, she is in complete worship of the Lord. There is undivided attention. It is complete reverent worship knowing she is in the presence of God-Himself.
Therefore Jesus says in V42: one thing is needful. Mary has chosen the good portion, which shall not be taken away from her.

When Martha knows, Mary knows too that Jesus is the Son of God. Mary knows of the impending Crucifixion.
So, before the Crucifixion of Jesus, Mary comes with the costly ointment of pure nard and pours it on the head and wipes the feet of Jesus. She expresses her pain through a perfect sacrifice of sitting at the feet of Jesus and wiping His feet with her hair.
Do you feel the pain in the heart of Mary?

Mary took a pound of costly ointment of pure nard and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment. John 12:3
Mary is the sister of both Martha and (Lazarus-he who had been raised from the dead by Jesus).
It was Jesus’ miracle of raising up Lazarus that got the religious authorities plotting against Jesus - to kill Jesus. They also planned to put Lazarus to death because so many believed in Jesus because of Lazarus.
Passover was 6 days away and orders had been given by the religious authorities to arrest Jesus.
Jesus comes to Bethany, to the home of Mary, Martha and Lazarus.
Mary is expressing her great love for Jesus by anointing His feet with expensive perfume and wiping them dry with her hair.
Mary knows this would be the last time she could be at the feet of Jesus. Even though the disciples are indignant and saying things, there is no response in record from Mary.
She is in the presence of the Lord and in total reverent worship. She is in prayer. No point of distraction.
Martha was cooking and serving the people who had come to her place.
Martha heard Jesus, but she missed on sitting in the presence of the Lord in reverent worship.
When Mary, anointed the Lord, she was in complete awe as she worshipped God in totality.
Jesus says in Matthew 26:10 For she has done a beautiful thing to me.
and in Matthew 26:13Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.”

But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (he who was to betray him), said, “Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” John 12:4-5
Jesus accepts Mary’ Gift because He knew the meaning of Mary’s act. Our Lord knew what Mary was pouring upon Him wasn’t just perfume. It was a complete expression of love that was fully rooted in love.
Her pouring out the perfume was the only way to express her love to the fullest holding nothing back. It was Mary' outpouring of love.
John 12:3 -and the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.
The house was filled with love-with reverent worship and the fragrance was sweet.
Jesus had filled the lives (of Mary, Martha and John) with the Love and knowledge of God. Their Home was a Heaven with Jesus in it. Jesus was the fragrance. And pouring on Jesus the perfume of their lives was letting Jesus know how much and how fully Jesus had filled their lives.
We observe how deeply Mary loves Jesus; we observe that Jesus readily receives that from her.

Why did Paul put up with hardship: with three times being shipwrecked, being adrift at sea for a day and a half, with imprisonment, beatings, stoning, hunger, thirst.
Indeed I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Philippians 3:8
Mary and the Apostle Paul each witness in their own way that the value of knowing Jesus is beyond any scale we have to measure.
Judas saw Jesus as his ticket to power and prestige. His understanding was when the Messiah would use His power to takeover, he-Judas, would be a key figure in the new order of things.
Mary seems to be aware of Jesus’s prediction that He has come to Jerusalem to die. She anoints Him for Death, says Jesus in His words.

Jesus said, “Let her alone, let her keep it for the day of my burial. John 12:7
She has done what she could; she has anointed my body beforehand for burying. Mark 14:8

Conclusion: When we come before the Lord, we too must be like Mary, in total worship and Praise of the Lord. We must know in Whose presence we are.
We fail miserably, because we let ourselves get carried away.
Most of the time you will see people come in just 2 minutes before the celebration of the mass can begin or just in time. It is another thing when people come in late. Is this perfect worship. No!
At the celebration of the mass, at the Eucharistic Adoration, Jesus is completely present.
This is my point of view, that when we come in Holy Adoration (Eucharistic Adoration), there must be a time when we just sit in the presence of the Lord. We must allow ourselves to be in conversation with our Lord. And with time, we will be able to listen and recognize our Lords voice.
The Lord waits for each one of us, question is how do you present yourself?
But the really sad thing is, during Eucharistic Adoration, people have made it a habit as such to have someone come up and speak. We want someone to talk to us. We do not want to take the time to sit in silence and be able to listen to Jesus. And say if a person does so, then they expect to hear Jesus immediately. Considering how one lives one's life, that will take time.
During the Eucharistic Adoration, people mostly focus on the speaker. If the speaker is a Priest, then it is GOOD!
But if a lay person, then it is a distraction because one's focus becomes the person. And that is no WORSHIP OF GOD!

REMEMBER-REMEMBER: Mary walks humbly into a gathering of people and begins pouring what was probably the most precious thing she owned, all over Jesus. Because from her view, she could only see Jesus and knowing the pain of not having to see Him, made every moment with Jesus even more precious.
The only way to have confidently given such a gift and in this manner without worrying about anyone meant, Mary knew the surpassing worth of knowing Christ.
A Sacrifice of Love-an awe filled reverent worship, is offered to Jesus and the fragrance of which is most acceptable to God.

Thank You, Abba Father.
Thank You, Jesus.
Thank You, Holy Spirit.

300 Prophecies

The Prophecies in The Bible are Detail specific and written before the events could transpire. There are over 300 Messianic Prophecies in The Old Testament, all pointing to Jesus Christ.
The odds of one man fulfilling all these prophecies, signify Divine Orchestration.
The number of fulfilled prophecies are presented as evidence that Jesus Christ is the Promised Messiah-The One Who redeems humanity.
In His Life, Death, and Resurrection Jesus fulfilled all the (300+) Prophecies in The Scripture bringing about God's Redemptive Plan in God’s Time.

TEN Examples of Prophecies & Fulfillments.
1. Born of a Virgin (Isaiah 7:14)
Prophecy: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, a young woman shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Imman′u-el. —Isaiah 7:14
Fulfillment: 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit; 19 and her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. 20 But as he considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit; 21 she will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this took place to fulfil what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: 23 “Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emman′u-el”  —Matthew 1:18-23
Isaiah’s prophecy, given over 700 years before Christ, foretold a miraculous birth. The name Immanuel, meaning “God with us,” reflects Jesus’ Divine nature and His presence among humanity. The virgin birth is a cornerstone of Christian belief, affirming that Jesus is fully God and fully Man.

2. Born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2)
Prophecy: “But you, O Bethlehem Eph′rathah, who are little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days.” —Micah 5:2
Fulfillment: “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, ” —Matthew 2:1
Micah wrote of the small town of Bethlehem as the birthplace of the Messiah—hundreds of years before the event occurred. Despite Mary and Joseph living in Nazareth, a Roman census brought them to Bethlehem just in time for Jesus' birth, fulfilling the prophecy with Divine precision.

3. A Messenger Prepares the Way (Isaiah 40:3, Malachi 3:1)
Prophecy: A voice cries: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord, Make straight in the desert a highway for our God.” —Isaiah 40:3
Fulfillment: For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord,
make his paths straight.” —Matthew 3:3
Both Isaiah and Malachi foretold a forerunner who would prepare hearts for the coming Messiah. John the Baptist, preached repentance and baptized Jesus, marking the beginning of His public ministry.

4. The Messiah Would Enter Jerusalem on a Donkey (Zechariah 9:9)
Prophecy: “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Lo, your king comes to you; triumphant and victorious is he, humble and riding on an ass, on a colt the foal of an ass.” —Zechariah 9:9
Fulfillment: “7 they brought the ass and the colt, and put their garments on them, and he sat thereon. 8 Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 And the crowds that went before him and that followed him shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” —Matthew 21:7-9
This prophecy was fulfilled during Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, an event now celebrated as Palm Sunday.

5. Betrayed for Thirty Pieces of Silver (Zechariah 11:12-13)
Prophecy: “12 Then I said to them, “If it seems right to you, give me my wages; but if not, keep them.” And they weighed out as my wages thirty shekels of silver. 13 Then the Lord said to me, “Cast it into the treasury”—the lordly price at which I was paid off by them. So I took the thirty shekels of silver and cast them into the treasury in the house of the Lord.” —Zechariah 11:12-13
Fulfillment: “15 and said, “What will you give me if I deliver him to you?” And they paid him thirty pieces of silver.”—Matthew 26:15;
3 When Judas, his betrayer, saw that he was condemned, he repented and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, 4 saying, “I have sinned in betraying innocent blood.” They said, “What is that to us? See to it yourself.” 5 And throwing down the pieces of silver in the temple, he departed; and he went and hanged himself. 6 But the chief priests, taking the pieces of silver, said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since they are blood money.” 7 So they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in. 8 Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day. 9 Then was fulfilled what had been spoken by the prophet Jeremiah, saying, “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him on whom a price had been set by some of the sons of Israel, 10 and they gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord directed me.”—Matthew 27:3-10
Judas Iscariot’s betrayal, including the exact amount he was paid and how the money was used, mirrors Zechariah’s prophecy. It reflects betrayal.

6. Silent Before His Accusers (Isaiah 53:7)
Prophecy: “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.” —Isaiah 53:7
Fulfillment: “12 But when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he made no answer. 13 Then Pilate said to him, “Do you not hear how many things they testify against you?” 14 But he gave him no answer, not even to a single charge; so that the governor wondered greatly.” —Matthew 27:12-14
During His trials before Pilate and the Sanhedrin, Jesus remained silent—fulfilling Isaiah’s prophecy of a suffering Servant, meek and willing to bear the iniquities of others.

7. Pierced Hands and Feet (Psalm 22:16)
Prophecy: “16 Yea, dogs are round about me; a company of evildoers encircle me; they have pierced my hands and feet—.” —Psalm 22:16
Fulfillment: “There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them.” —John 19:18,
25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and place my finger in the mark of the nails, and place my hand in his side, I will not believe.” —John 20:25-27
David wrote this before crucifixion existed as a Roman punishment. Psalm 22 describes pierced hands and feet, which was a fulfilment of the crucifixion of Jesus.

8. Lots Cast for His Garments (Psalm 22:18)
Prophecy: “They divide my garments among them, and for my raiment they cast lots.” —Psalm 22:18
Fulfillment: “23 When the soldiers had crucified Jesus they took his garments and made four parts, one for each soldier; also his tunic. But the tunic was without seam, woven from top to bottom; 24 so they said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be.” This was to fulfil the scripture, “They parted my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.” —John 19:23-24
Below The Crucified Jesus, the Roman soldiers gambled for His clothes. David’s Psalm reveals how God orchestrated the smallest details of the crucifixion to fulfill Prophecy.

9. Not a Bone Broken (Exodus 12:46, Psalm 34:20)
Prophecy: “He keeps all his bones not one of them is broken.” —Psalm 34:20
Fulfillment: “33 but when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. .” —John 19:33
While crucifixion victims typically had their legs broken to hasten death, Jesus had already Died. This meant no broken bones, fulfilling Psalm 34:20 but also the law regarding the Passover lamb (Exodus 12:46), foreshadowing Jesus as the Ultimate Sacrificial Lamb.

10. Resurrection from the Dead (Psalm 16:10, Isaiah 53:10–11)
Prophecy: “For thou dost not give me up to Sheol, or let thy godly one see the Pit.” —Psalm 16:10
Fulfillment: “6 He is not here; for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.” —Matthew 28:6
The Resurrection of Jesus is the fulfillment of The Messianic Prophecy. Jesus’ Resurrection validated every Promise and proved that Death was defeated.
